Charles Pettit

My name is Charles Pettit and I have been in the Loudoun County 4-H Poultry Club for 6 years. I’m commonly known as “The Turkey Guy” by my friends and family in the club. My favorite 4-H project by far has been raising turkeys, and learning about their quirky and lovable personalities. Gus, Skylar, and Marie have been my main 4-H project for 2 years now, and make an excellent breeding and laying trio. Gus is a strong flock protector who looks very intimidating, but is actually very sweet and a peacemaker for the entire flock. Skylar and Marie are my breeding hens and have succesfully hatched over 2 dozen babies with a 100% hatch rate! This turkey trio has been raised with lots of love and have won best of class in years past. They would make an excellent addition to any backyard flock, or to anyone who is interested in breeding these silly and affectionate birds.
