Georgiana Runyan

Hi, my name is Georgiana Runyan. I am an Intermediate this year in 4-H and have been in Poultry Club since I was a Cloverbud seven years ago. We moved out to Loudoun County the day before I turned five and for my fifth birthday, I got my first chickens. We have had chickens ever since and I have loved getting to know and show different chicken breeds. This year, I have chosen to auction two of our chickens, one of which is a Light Brahma and the other which is a Sumatra. When we ordered the chicks, we requested all females, but ended up with a rooster. He was big even as a chick and we should have known at that point that he was a rooster, but he is really friendly and great to the hens, so he has been a lot of fun to have. He is protective of his flock and also friendly to my brother and I and I love waking up to the sound of his crow in the morning. I have decided to auction him and our Sumatra, who is a pullet and both are beautiful and easy keepers.
